In Memory of Colyn Taylor Woods

"Colyn Taylor Woods was 15 years old when he passed away on Thursday January 14, 2010. Colyn made a tremendous impact on all of us and we cared for him deeply. Colyn, the youngest of 5 children of Patty and Darrell Woods (Darrell is a firefighter with the North County Fire Protection District and is stationed in Pala Mesa), suffered from Mitochondrial Disorder. He was diagnosed at age 11 by Dr. Boles at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles after suffering for years with an undiagnosed disorder that has affected multiple systems in his body including his stomach, immune system and lungs. Throughout his childhood years, Colyn maintained a positive attitude often being an encouragement to those around him and inspiring others. Colyn loved life, lived it with courage and loved others around him. Words cannot express how much we will miss him.

The "Colyn Woods" fund has been set up in loving memory of Colyn. Your contribution will help benefit the advancement of Family Centered Care and Mitochondrial Disorder research and immunology at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Your generous gift will also benefit Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships."
